Turquoise has replaced hexagonal prismatic crystals of apatite. The turquoise replacement is believed to have occurred as a part of either late copper mineralization in or supergene leaching of breccia pipes. The crystals towards the bottom of the specimen are incomplete; the upper portion shows some minor contacting (likely in the original apatite).
