Turquoise ps. Apatite (Ref: MEX-0004)

Cumobabi Mine, Cumpas Municipality, Sonora, Mexico
35mm x 18mm x 15mm
minID: CH3-2DE - This is NOT the product reference. DO NOT QUOTE THIS ON ORDERS.
$185
Turquoise has replaced hexagonal prismatic crystals of apatite. The turquoise replacement is believed to have occurred as a part of either late copper mineralization in or supergene leaching of breccia pipes. There is some contacting on the specimen (likely in the original apatite), and the lower right-hand side is incomplete - the apatite form is relatively sharp.
