gem PINK GARNET var. GROSSULAR, DIOPSIDE (Ref: 22255)

An exceptional specimen of rare pink garnet var. grossular from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. This specimen comes from the renowned collection of Francois Letourneau, Quebec, Canada (with small label on the backs side), which adds provenance and value to the piece. The grossular crystals are up to 9mm which is an impressive size for pink garnets. They are water clear, transparent and gem. The crystals have sharp rhombic dodecahedral crystallization, strong glassy luster and irresistible pink color. Three major crystals at the top create an outstanding visual focal point. The matrix is beautifully accented with bright apple-green diopside crystals, providing striking contrast and color balance. The specimen is also fluorescent. Pink grossulars from the Jeffrey Mine are among the most sought after and rare garnets from this classic locality.
