A killer small jewel of extremely rare pink garnet var. grossular with grass green phantoms from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The grossular crystals to 8mm are water clear and gem with grass green cores which are result of chromium, and surrounded by transparent pink areas. Normally these are colorless and the pink phantom garnets are much rarer. The crystals have sharp rhombic dodecahedral crystallization, strong glassy luster and irresistible contrast. It is fluorescent. The green cored garnets are among the most unusual and rare Jeffrey mine garnets. This was mined long time ago - the mine is closed now. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – some side contacts and micro nicks. On acrylic base., Stunning!,
