White to colorless Beryl (Goshenite) in elongated crystals in a cluster with only a tiny sliver of matrix. Translucent to transparent, glassy and sharp, the crystals are terminated with flat basal tops. From the Erongo Mountains, it is surprising how rare colorless Beryl is compared to some of the many colored varieties. This is a nice addition to an Beryl suite. Most Goshenite we see from Erongo are tiny crystals usually with Schorl or Feldspar. This piece having pure Goshenite in good size (to 2.6 CM) is very unusual and significant.From: Well-Arranged Molecules
