Apatite on Diopside (?) (Ref: K827)
Chamkoroma, Dodoma Province, Tanzania
40mm x 30mm x 20mm
minID: PAL-1L1
A 2.4 terminated Apatite crystal attached to two terminated green crystals (possibly Diopside or other Pyroxene). This is relatively new material and the only aesthetic specimen that I saw of the material. The Apatite is translucent and gets transparent near the termination. There is also a small amount of transparent, colorless Hyalite Opal attached to the green crystals. From: Marin Minerals
