Terminated and gemmy, bright blue Kyanite crystals are well exposed on a Quartz matrix. The Kyanites are transparent and most have a deeper blue "racing stripe" down the center of the flat blades. Many of the crystals are doubly terminated and reach 10 CM long. Kyanite is a fairly common mineral but it is certainly not common in such an esthetic, delicate array. Exceptional color and quality, it is hard to capture the luster of the crystals in photographs. When this is backlit the intense blue color is incredible. From: Well-Arranged Molecules
