Augelite on Quartz (Ref: 7065)

This impressive and colorful, 2.3 cm tall, sharply shaped Augelite crystal is exceptionally centrally perched on a crystallized Quartz matrix. It comes from the private collection of Bernhard Dünkel, who acquired the piece in 2008. The crystal is a translucent, vibrant seafoam green with gem-like areas and beautifully offset razor-sharp edges. It is perfectly embedded among long-prismatic Quartz crystals up to 1.7 cm and represents an aesthetically competitive specimen of this rare phosphate species. These Augelites from Mundo Nuevo are considered the world´s finest and were produced from a few small deposits in the mid-2000s. Balanced and of great aesthetic appeal, unlike many others, they are difficult to find today in this size and condition—but they always have been.
