A gorgeous beauty of gemmy rhodochrosite crystals aesthetically decorated with quartz needles from the famous Sweet Home Mine, Alma, Colorado, USA. It comes from the famed Hedgehog Pocket, mined in August 1996. It displays transparent and clear rhodochrosite crystals. They have an intense and rich cherry-red color. The crystals are with sharp rhombohedral shape. The faces have a strong luster. The quality is superb so the crystals just glow. Above grow elongated quartz crystals and black sphalerite adding nice accents. The deposit has produced these treasures long time ago and pieces like this have always been scarce.
