A beautiful specimen of hematite var. iron rose aesthetically decorated with adularia, muscovite and rutile crystals from this classic Italian Alps locality - Formazza Valley, Piedmont. It comes from a new find. It shows a superb black flower formed by parallel hematite plates. The iron rose has an excellent quality with sparkling faces, which strongly reflect the light. They have a sharp hexagonal shape. Colorless, small crystals of K feldspar var. adularia give a nice contrast. Honey colored rutile needles grow on the rose. Sharp, hexagonal muscovite crystals are seen too. It displays aesthetically on both sides. In excellent condition. On acrylic base., This piece exemplifies the diversity and aesthetic beauty of alpine mineral associations, combining sharp contrasts in texture, and form.
