A beautiful specimen of hematite var. iron rose aesthetically decorated with quartz, muscovite and rutile crystals from this classic Italian Alps locality - Formazza Valley, Piedmont. It comes from a new find. It shows a superb black flower formed by parallel hematite plates. The iron rose has an excellent quality with sparkling faces, which strongly reflect the light. It has a sharp hexagonal shape. Colorless transparent and sharp quartz crystals add a nice contrast. Golden rutile needles grow on the rose. Some small muscovite crystals are seen too. It displays aesthetically all over 360 degree. In excellent condition. On acrylic base., This piece exemplifies the diversity and aesthetic beauty of alpine mineral associations, combining sharp contrasts in texture, and form.
