A cool specimen of these unique cubic magnetite crystals from Empire State No. 4 Mine, Balmat, New York, USA. When discovered in 1992-94, the mine was called ZCA Mine No. 4 and they have generated a lot of interest. It displays black, sharp cubic crystals up to 6mm with strong metallic luster. The white base gives a strong contrast. For references see the 2025 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 56, # 1. In very good condition – some small nicks and contacts.
