This is a choice specimen of beautiful gemmy crystals of Hessonite (Grossular) Garnets from the prime location at the Jeffrey mine by the town of Asbestos in Canada. Several clusters and individual crystals of the Grossular variety Hessonite, measure to 1,3 cm on a dark gray finely matrix. The Hessonite crystals are a delightful gemmy, light pumpkin-orange to brown and form superb multi-sided crystals with bright lustrous faces and stepped edges between faces. The contrast between the Hessonite and dark grey matrix is great. An almost museum-grade specimen of Hessonite Garnet from the classic Jeffrey mine. Superb aesthetics and pristine all around.
