Marvelous specimen of Corundum var. Ruby on a white Marble base from Jegdalek ruby deposit, Afghanistan. The crystal is 9mm long and it has a rich fuchsia-red color. It is well shaped. The luster is good. It is slightly translucent and it displays some gemminess. The white base gives a superb contrast. Some Phlogopite crystals are seen too. In very good condition – some natural imperfections., Pleasing Ruby!
