An exceptional specimen of corundum var. ruby crystal with black muscovite and pyrope var. rhodolite from Zazafotsy Quarry, Fianarantsoa Province, Madagascar. The ruby crystal is 31mm with saturated color variations from purple to violet. It has a hexagonal shape with flat terminations. It is doubly terminated. The luster is strong and the crystal is slightly translucent. It is richly fluorescent. Red pyrope var. rhodolite grows around the ruby. In excellent condition – some natural imperfections. On acrylic base., Top ruby!,
