gem GARNET var. GROSSULAR var. CHROMIAN, CHROMITE (Ref: 18671)

Jeffrey mine, Asbestos, Les Sources RCM, Estrie, Quebec, Canada
14mm x 13mm x 9mm
Striking small specimen of Garnet var. Grossular var. Chromian with black Chromite inclusions from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The Grossular crystals are gem up to 1mm. They have deep and saturated grass-green color due to Chromium. The Garnets are with sharp rhombic dodecahedral crystallization, glassy luster and irresistible color. Some minor inclusions of black Chromite are seen too. Some apple-green Diopside crystals are seen too. Fine piece from this closed mine. It displays and sparkles attractively on both sides.
