Volborthite (Ref: B298)

Volborthite Pocket, Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico

Volborthite crystals in a 0.7cm group displayed perfectly on white Quartz. This specimen is unusual for the pocket (only one of a few I saw) in that it has glassy, lustrous crystals with transparency. This pocket has produced the world's finest Volborthite by a huge margin and while this one is not the largest, it is of excellent quality. From a single pocket opened in April 2015 that produced a limited number of specimens.
