Peridot (Ref: M621)
Pyaung Gaung, Mogok, Myanmar
9mm x 5mm x 5mm
minID: UDV-JQW
Highly gemmy and lustrous, vivid green Peridot crystal. Mogok is known for the world's best Peridot, though they much less common than crystals from Pakistan. They are characterized by great transparency and fine green color, often with surface etching. Larger crystals (such as Bill Larson's that has been the back cover of Mineralogical Record many times), even only 4-5cm, can cost in the many tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars, they are just that rare and desirable. Though small, this crystal is gem quality internally and has high surface luster. From: Marin Minerals
