Chrysoberyl - gemmy twin crystal, Northeastern USA (Ref: 20.1-300-(LW380))
Ragged Ass Jack Mountain, Hartford, Oxford County, Maine, United States
17mm x 15mm x 3mm
minID: FNW-GD4
Classic form Chrysoberyl from the Ragged Ass Jack Mountain find in Maine, USA. This is a complete crystal, fully transparent and with nice color. The twinning can be clearly seen by the distinct striations. This thumbnail is from the Larry White collection which he obtained almost 50 years ago from Phil Scalisi who in turn got this from the Grace Dearborn collection. For this locality the quality and condition is super, a few larger crystals are known but those are far less sharp, gemmy and complete. A rare and choice USA Thumbnail and a fine Oxford County, Maine piece as well. From: Well-Arranged Molecules
