This is a Afghanite (TL) on Calcite (fluor.) from Sar-e Sang, Koksha Valley, Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan. The second wave of Afghanites from Sar-e Sang, of which this is one, finally brought to fruition the promise of high quality specimens from earlier finds near the surface of more pale and weathered specimens in the early 2000's.
