A killer small jewel of gem garnet var. grossular with grass green phantoms from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The grossular crystals to 3mm are water clear and gem with grass green cores which are result of chromium, and surrounded by transparent areas with a cream hue. The crystals have a sharp rhombic dodecahedral crystallization, strong glassy luster and irresistible contrast. It is fluorescent in a rich pink. The green cored garnets are among the most unusual and rare Jeffrey mine garnets. This was mined long time ago - the mine is closed now.
