A superb and rare specimen of gemmy epididymite crystal with rhodochrosite and aegirine from the famous Poudrette quarry, Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada. The colorless and transparent, prismatic, pseudo-hexagonal crystal of epididymite is well shaped, and sharp. It is 30mm. Usually these are white and opaque - epididymite with such quality is very rare. The faces are glassy and lustrous. Black aegirine and pink, rhombohedral rhodochrosite crystals are seen too. For references see the 1990 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 21, # 4. In good condition – some aegirine damages and contacts. On acrylic base., Outstanding epididymite!,
