A rarely encountered and quite brilliant specimen of cubic Magnetite crystals from Balmat, New York. You may know that by far the most common crystal habit for Magnetite is the octahedron; this piece displays numerous sharply terminated and quite lustrous CUBIC Magnetite crystals, a hallmark of this locality. This is the ONLY locality where cubic Magnetite has been found, and has been closed to collecting for years.
