Quartz RARE HABIT & LOCALITY (Ref: 7095)

Uffeln Quarry | Ibbenbüren | Osnabrück | North Rhine-Westphalia | Germany
52mm x 36mm x 22mm
$2673 *
This is one of the finest, strangest and most aesthetically pleasing Quartz crystals I have ever seen. At first glance the basic shape appears to be cuboidal and it has an extremely high luster, unbelievable sharp edges and wonderful clarity. An additional special feature is that this piece comes from Germany. More precisely from the Uffeln quarry of Ibbenbüren near Osnabrück. Until I saw Quartz specimens from this place, a former limestone deposit in northwest Germany for the first time I had no idea about their quality either. When you consider that after the quarry was closed in 1982 it was turned into a nature conservancy that is strictly off limits, you can imagine how rare such magnificent specimens are today. The specimen was formerly housed in the Dr. Schönfelder collection.
