Proustite (Ref: 7092)
Schacht 207 | Schlema-Hartenstein | Erzgebirge | Saxony | Germany
40mm x 28mm x 22mm
$2994 *
Here we have several radiant, cherry-red clusters of crystallized Proustite from one of Europe´s most important localities, although few specimens are available on the market. The specific name of the mine is Schacht 207 ( shaft 207 )of the Schlema-Hartenstein district in Saxony. This clusters are elegant and sparkling, in contrast to the usual dull, lumpy mass of dark Proustite as we know so well. It has been stored in a box or in the dark for most of its life since its mining—Proustite slowly darkens in light over time. This specific case features also one of the rare matrix specimens, with crystals reaching a maximum length of 1.1 cm and most of the terminations intact, with only very minor bruising here and there. Due to its overall aesthetics, color, and size, this is a highly unusual specimen.Data last checked on 15th Jun 2025
