Diaspore (Ref: 18EZZ26)
Ilbir Mountain, Pinarcik, Milâs District, Muğla Province, Aegean Region Turkey
49mm x 10mm x 4mm
Diaspore is an aluminum oxy-hydroxide that rarely develops into crystals. Fortunately, in Turkey there is a classic deposit where the crystals show good development, color and transparency, as is the case of this specimen, terminated and with a light yellowish-greenish color and with fine vertical striations. This mineral, together with Boehmite and Gibbsite, make up bauxite, a rock which is the main ore of aluminum.Ilbir Mountain, Pinarcik, Milâs District, Muğla Province, Aegean Region Turkey(2020)
