Diopside with Titanite (Ref: MMH-30)

Lustrous, dark-green, prismatic crystals of Diopside to 31 mm long are hosted in a Titanite-rich matrix. There are gemmy areas in some of the Diopside. Some chipping is present, but this is still an very good specimen, with excellent provenance. Collecting at this locality, NE of Natural Bridge, has occurred since the 1830s, and these specimens are quite rare. This specimen is ex. Wayne W. Holt collection, and passed through Hawthorneden to Marty.
