Here is a beautiful Gold specimen from the most treasured of localities: the Eagle's Nest Mine in California. This location is known for its sculpturesque gold-on-quartz combos, and this one is a real gem. The entire face of it is covered in gold, and it's pretty thick too. It's not one of those paper-thin gold leafs you often see, but rather a significantly chunky piece of gold which is ~1.3cm thick. The quartz is nice and narrow, so you only see it from the side. When viewed from the front you mostly see just the gold. With some additional lab work it appears even more gold could be revealed that is currently embedded in the quartz.
