Serrinha Pegmatite, Medina Pegmatite Field, Minas Gerais, Pedra Azul Pegmatite District, Brazil
A fully etched floater of aquamarine originates from the famous Medina locality. This piece has the rich glow that is the pinnacle of aquamarine color. It also has well defined structure and luster despite it having been heavily modified during its life underground. On close study, the crystal appears to be free of damage (on a heavily etched piece it can be a little harder to identify missing sections). This piece has great seafoam blue green color in daylight, but directed lighting sets off an otherworldly glow that is truly breathtaking. While Medina pieces are rare and most are very expensive, this piece offers a chance to appreciate the find at a reasonable price.
