A nice calcite on quartz from a one-off pocket at the Borieva Mine, in the Madan ore field, within the Rhodope Mtns., of Bulgaria! This pocket was discovered in late July of 2017, and I acquired the bulk of the find. This specimen features a single calcite crystal that has grown over several small quartz crystals, colored green from inclusions of chlorite. The calcite is amber to yellow in color and is interesting, due to the fact that it is a scalenohedral crystal, comprised of hundreds of flattened and stacked rhombohedrons. Minor brusing to the calcite but the piece is in good condition, and free of damage, otherwise.
