A very colorful and choice thumbnail of fine violet Vesuvianite crystals with zones of yellow to green in a lustrous cluster. The color pallet on this piece is quite special and very uncommon. Although Vesuvianite is a fairly common mineral, the unusual and vivid colors like this were limited to just one place on earth, the Jeffrey Mine, often from just one pocket or seam. This combination is striking in person, the condition is perfect and clean by naked eye, strong magnification shows some minor outer edge contacts that are not in any way degrading. Even for collections with several good Vesuvianites from this prolific locality this is a nice addition as the combination of hues and the overall form is unusual. From: Well-Arranged Molecules
