Thomsonite-Ca (Ref: AX-6-037)
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India
33mm x 26mm
minID: 9PM-XNA
Thompsonite is usually a drab, plain white mineral but this find was something very special. In 2011 a small find of sparkling pink balls on a contrasting dark greenish matrix was made. There were very few pieces that were not damaged, and none found since. This is a pristine smaller piece with a single ball covered with sparkling micro needles. In good light it has a sort of cauliflower or brain-like look. A nice example that is a pretty addition to a zeolite or Indian mineral suite. From: Well-Arranged Molecules
