An attractive, sharp, lustrous, gemmy/translucent, very good sized crystal (possibly a twin) with minor Quartz and Pyrite aesthetically sitting on matrix. Upon close inspection, I believe that this could be a twinned crystal only because I can see what I would call a clear reentrant angle in the middle of the crystal. I can’t say for sure if it’s twinned, and if anybody out there is familiar with the twinning of Augelite, I would love to hear their feedback. This piece was collected in March of 2006, and was one of the best pieces to come out of Machacamarca during that time. Regardless of whether the crystal is twinned or not, it’s a very fine Augelite not only from Bolivia, but any world locality.
