Mun. de Muzo, Vasquez-Yacopí Mining District, Boyacá Department, Colombia
An outstanding parisite crystal from the emerald mines of Muzo in Colombia’s Boyacá Department! This large, 2.5 cm, parisite crystal has nice brown color and wonderful striated faces. The termination of the crystal has a hole in it, almost like a hoppered crystal. Quite unusual. Parisite is a very rare mineral and to find a crystal of this size and quality is difficult, to say the least, making this a truly significant specimen in my mind. No significant damage.
