A gorgeous and rare specimen of garnet var. grossular with grass green phantoms, decorated with prehnite crystals from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. Quebec, Canada. The grossular crystals to 1mm are super gem with grass green cores, which are result of chromium and surrounded by transparent, colorless areas. The crystals have a rhombic dodecahedral sharp crystallization, glassy luster and irresistible contrast. Some black chromite inclusions are seen too. Sharp prismatic prehnite crystals grow above. They are colorless with flat tips. It displays aesthetically all over 360 degree. This was mined a long time ago - the mine is closed now. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – some small contacts. On acrylic base., Eye candy!,
