CARLETONITE, CALCITE (Ref: 22160)

Poudrette quarry, Mont Saint-Hilaire, Rouville RCM, Monteregie, Quebec, Canada
19mm x 12mm x 17mm
$185
A superb specimen of rich blue colored carletonite crystals decorated with calcite from this famous locality - Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada. The carletonite is one of the very rare mineral species unique for the type locality Mont Saint-Hilaire. It occurs only there and none has been found for many decades. The color varies from colorless to rich royal blue. Some faces are crystallized and some are contacts. The luster is good. Yellow calcite gives a nice contrast and colorfulness. For references see the 1990 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 21, # 4. In very good condition – some contacts. On acrylic base., Fine carletonite!,
