Quartz scepter (Ref: R462)
Big Sulfur Creek Canyon, near Socrates Mine, Sonoma Co., California, USA
70mm x 20mm x 15mm
$950
Glassy single Quartz crystal from an obscure California locality. The locality is in a Mercury mining district and a small number of these unusual Quartz crystals were found near the Socrates Mine. The crystal has inclusions, is sceptered, and rehealed at the base. The main termination faces have hoppered (Fenster) growth. Complete and undamaged. This is a really neat crystal both for the locality and the interestest growth features. Ultra rare crystal for a Quartz collector. Ex. Carl Acosta collection.Data last checked on 2nd Oct 2025 - specimen may no longer be available
