gemmy LAZULITE, SIDERITE (Ref: 22138)

Rapid Creek, Dawson Mining District, Yukon Territory, Canada
45mm x 19mm x 10mm
$380
A killer combo specimen of gemmy lazulite crystals with siderite and fluorapatite from the famous phosphate deposits of Yukon. Lazulite is a rare magnesium aluminum phosphate and some of the finest come from this locality. The lazulite crystals are sharp, highly lustrous, very well formed, monoclinic, deep indigo blue color measuring up to 7mm. Many crystals have gemmy areas with a striking royal-blue and green color. Transparent and sharp siderite crystals with yellow-brown color add a nice contrast. On the back side are seen small fluorapatite crystals. They are strongly lustrous, gemmy, very well crystallized are colorless. For references see the 1992 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 23, # 4. In very good condition – one small damage. On acrylic base., Stunning!,
