This is fine, gemmy Spodumene cluster from a well-known pegmatite in the mountains of Afghanistan. The color is yellow with a slight green tinge, and Spodumenes with similar coloration are often referred to as Triphanes. This is an excellent piece, weighing 146 grams, with well-developed faces and terminations. This wonderful cluster is nearly complete all around, with only minor bruising at the bottom of one prism face (not surprising considering the mining involved with a pegmatite). A wonderful Spodumene with excellent aesthetics, ideal for the collector of gem crystals who isn´t keen on the usual large, clunky green Spodumenes from this locality—this is something different!
