This is a fascinating cast (thin and hollow) of Dolomite with a very light tan tinge, wrapped around numerous Calcite crystals. The Calcite was dissolved by caustic solutions in the pocket, leaving only this ´shell´ behind. Numerous multifaceted and slightly amber-colored calcite rhombs up to 1.3 cm in size are perched atop this excellent cast specimen. These rhombs have an excellent luster, they are extremely sharp-edged, and have superb form. Highly aesthetic material from the famous Tsumeb mine, which was abandoned in 1996 for economic reasons. By the way, this piece is much better in person.
