Titanite ( Sphene ) on Adularia with Tourmaline (Ref: RG1324)

Zillertal, North Tirol, Tirol, Austria
160mm x 112mm x 84mm
$2100
This stunning cabinet plate features glassy, green Titanite (Sphene) crystals on Adularia accented with lustrous, dark needles of Tourmaline, likely Schorl. The green Sphene crystals, to 8 mm, are all terminated and glassy. The Adularia crystals are also quite glassy and many are also doubly terminated. A fine green Chlorite dusting accents the specimen, and the Tourmaline needles are included within many of the Sphene crystals. This fabulous Alpine specimen contains several less common minerals, and is from the collections of both Keith Proctor and Marvin Rausch.
