A large and quite attractive specimen of polished Orthoceras fossils from Morocco. It features an over eight pound piece of Orthoceras cleverly carved into the shaped of a book. Even though much of this material is available, these "books" are very hard to find; I was lucky to find one dealer with a few of these at the Tucson show several years ago. This particual book is very special in that it has "THE FOSSIL BOOK" engraved on the side.Data last checked on 29th Jul 2024 - specimen may no longer be available
