Serifos Island (Seriphos), Cyclade Islands (Cyclades; Kikladhes; Nomos Kikladhon), Kykládes Prefecture, Aegean Islands (Aiyaíon) Department, Greece
This aesthetic, large (85 mm long), doubly-terminated, green prase Quartz crystal is of very good quality and color, and is nicely perched on Calcite matrix. It is also relatively unique. The association with Calcite is not common from Serifos, and single, doubly-terminated crystals from here are quite rare. As typical for Prase Quartz from Serifos, the crystal is elongated and does not show individual rhombohedral faces at the ends. Instead, the ends look like rounded bundles of many small crystals. No damage (only a small contact). This is an excellent example, and classic material from this noted locale.
