This is a Beryl var. Alkali-beryl from Deo Darrah, Kuran Wa Munjan Dist., Badakhshan, Afghanistan. An excellent full thumbnail example of this rare varietal species of beryl, at 1.7 x 2.5 x 2.4 cm, showing lustrous light/blue (outer edge) to dark blue (center) layered tabular pair of prismatic hexagonal crystals.
