Beryl var. Morganite (Ref: 7.1-015)

Complete single gem crystal with very minor matrix. A choice and relatively well-formed prism from the famed Urucum Mine (Brazil). The wide faces are glasslike, transparent and very lustrous, the sides are nicely etched and frosted. A classic habit with typical crudeness on edges but still a full and robust prism. The color is slightly zoned with the deepest pink hues in the core area. For some reason fully developed crystals of Morganite are uncommon, unlike other Beryls they are often contacted, incomplete or otherwise undeveloped. This is a nice crystal that is more developed than most. This has all six sides of the prism present and at the point of contact is also crystalized around the matrix. Some edge roughness but no major damage. This is simply a nice pink Beryl in classic tabular form.
