Vivianite with Pyrite (Ref: RG0507)
Morococala Mine, Santa Fe Mining District, near Morococala, Dalence Province, Oruro Department, Bolivia
39mm x 32mm x 20mm
minID: 060-ECQ
$250
A well crystallized, dark-green, doubly-terminated Vivianite measuring 38 x 13 x 7 mm is associated with what seem to be Vivianite crystals coated with micro-crystalline brassy Pyrite. There is a contact on the crystal edge, coated with Pyrite. The specimen is in excellent condition. This is a very difficult specimen to photograph, and it looks better than the photos. The specimen has been stored in the dark since I acquired it in 1984. The section of the mine where these were found is now flooded. No damage.ex. Bob Griffis collection.
Data last checked on 8th Jun 2026 - specimen may no longer be available
