A good afghanite crystal from the famous Sar-e Sang, Afghanistan. Afghanite is a rare aluminosilicate and Sar-e Sang is the type locality. It displays a well-formed and complete hexagonal prism of 11mm. It has a deep blue color. It is matt lustrous. For references see the issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 45, # 3, May-June 2014.
