An exceptional specimen of rare colorless garnet var. grossular crystals decorating greenish diopside needles from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The colorless garnets are among the rarest in the world. The grossular crystals to 2mm are super gem, completely transparent and clear like water. They have a rhombic dodecahedral sharp crystallization and glassy luster. They are fluorescent in a bright pink. The garnets are scattered on white diopside needles growing in radial sprays. The diopside has some green hue. The amazing grossulars clarity and gemminess make them appear like diamonds sparkling on the tips of the needles. A remarkable specimen from this closed mine. It displays beautifully all over 360 degree. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition. On acrylic base., Stunning jewel!,
