This is a Hematite on granite from Alte Bach, Lax, Goms, Valais, Switzerland. One of the most famous and sought-after of the Alpine minerals are the hematite rosettes affectionately nicknamed "Iron Roses." Covering much of the granite matrix, the rosettes here are composed of thin, bladed hematite crystals.
