Epidote-Clinozoisite is one of the better known of all the Alpine cleft species, and in the last several decades since it opened up some of the finest specimens in the world have come out of Pakistan. These bladed-prismatic specimens are seemingly identical to some of the classic Alpine specimens from Europe, and in certain instances, have surpassed the European specimens for quality, gemminess and size. This piece consists of a single, lustrous, wide-prismatic, gemmy, olive-green crystal that is complete: It is also nicely terminated and upon looking at the termination, one can see that the crystal is distinctly twinned! Its transparency is revealed with only minor backlighting and one can see that it is mostly transparent, obscured only in a few areas by clustered, near-horizontal internal fractures. This is a great example for the species and locality, featuring unusually dramatic twinning resulting in a wide, flat termination. From old finds of the late 1990s or early 2000s. ex Herb Obodda old inventory.
